"Oak tree + golden hour + you two = I am not putting my camera down."
The oak canopy at the back of the property is the photo machine here. Plan 15 minutes of portrait time during late afternoon — the dappled light through those leaves makes everything look editorial without trying.
Driftwood is about 30 minutes southwest of Austin, so timeline-wise: factor in travel for any vendors coming from town. We typically arrive 20 minutes earlier than at downtown venues just to settle.
First dance under the string lights with the pastoral horizon behind is one of the best moments to shoot here. I'll usually pull you for a single sunset portrait between cocktail and dinner — the venue is famous for that golden hour pasture light.
Most Stonehouse weddings run 7-9 hours given the venue's full-service setup. Austin Classic (8 hrs) is the most common fit.
Stonehouse has a covered reception space and tent options — they'll coordinate the move if weather requires. We'll scout backup spots during walkthrough.
Under the oak canopy near the ceremony space — better light than the pavilion and faster than relocating. Plan 20-25 minutes after the ceremony.
Aim for 90 minutes before sunset for the most flattering ceremony light. We'll work backward from the local sunset time on your wedding date.
Yes — Stonehouse has a beautiful bridal suite with great natural light and a separate groom's space. Getting-ready coverage starts there.
